Threat to Community-Owned Solar

Minnesotans have been working to make our solar energy future community-owned instead of corporate-owned for decades. Consistent, affordable, and people-owned solar is an important step in our transition to sustainable energy.

Unfortunately, that future is currently under threat. Xcel Energy is pushing for administrative and legislative changes that would make community-owned solar more expensive and onerous in an effort to keep their monopoly on energy production.

Join us and the coalition of partners below for a conversation about the history of community-owned solar, our vision for its future, and how you can help in the fight to keep and grow it.
